A Calendar Planner for Pets w/Giveaway!

A few weeks ago one of my friends, Aimee posted about a new company who had came out with a pet planner. Its a planner designed just for your pet because they have lives too. I thought I would see what it was all about since I am one busy poodle. I contacted the company and asked for more information to see if this would be something I would use.

After a few emails back and forth, they asked if they could send me a planner book. They also asked if I cared to send a photo of myself to them for their video once it was created. I sent them a photo or 5 (wanted to make sure they got my good side) and included my mailing address. In a couple of days I received the planner. I opened it with ma's help and we turned each page and I have to say , I really love this planner.

Here is what the planner includes:

Front cover of planner with 1st page

When you open the planner you will find a folder to place important documents, pet records etc in. You have a file folder with pockets on both sides. It tells about the Petter and how it helps you to keep track of everything. You get a adhesive note pad that you can hang on your fridge to write noted on. Its a mini tablet of paper. There is also page markers (pink tabs) to mark your pages for quick reference, and a stack of post it notes to jot down things. Its made where they won't fall out.

Find a Holiday in a minute

Turn the page and you have a list of important websites. There are links to Adopt a pet, Report animal cruelty , and medical resources to name a few. Beside that is all the holidays listed. This is very handy for bloggers or those who like to send cards to family and friends. You can plan in advance. Its has every month listed. Did you know that July is National Doghouse Repair month? February is Adopt a rabbit/dog training month,Feb 20th is Love your pet day! Each month has many dates for certain events.

They have included a calendar of 2013-2015 for the year in a glance. No more trying to find a calendar for 2013 to see what date something fell on or looking for a next year calendar to see what day a birth date falls on. Its all right at your fingertips!
You have each month to jot notes on the calendar and they actually leave enough room to write it all (photo on right) If you write big or have a lot going on that day , you have plenty of room to write it. I liked the shadows of all the different animals on each page. This planner isn't just for dogs , its for any species of animals.

place to put all your pet info
You have pages to put your pet's info. They have included 6 pages for pets. This book isn't just for one pet, like other pet books I have seen. This is a great resource for pet sitters, family members who may watch your pets or friends who check on your pets when you are gone. If there is ever a emergency they can take the book with them to the vet.

Here is something you don't see in any pet books and that would be a place for their family tree. Know your dogs lineage? You can record it here. Mine would have my human grandpawents names instead since I all I know is I was born in Florida.

You have 3 pages for contacts. You can list the names, addresses, phone numbers, email and notes on each entry. Its great for those holiday card lists of those you love to send stuff to. There is a 4 pages of scrapbook pages to put your favorite photos on. Plenty of space to get creative!
The last pages are for notes. You have plenty of room to jot down things to add later.

All in all I will give the Petter 4 paws up with a wiggle included. I really liked this book and it would make a wonderful present to any pet parent.

The Petter retails for $24.95 and includes FREE shipping. You can purchase your Petter book at their website- ThePetter.com but wait! I enjoyed this book so much and I thought my readers would too, I asked the Petter if they would allow me to give one away for free. They said YES! *wags tail*

Wednesdays Wags

Tuesdays Tails- Lots of Kitties

At the Owensboro Humane Society, we have many kitties who needs homes. We have all shapes, colors, sizes and personalities. Some came as tiny kittens, some older and some seniors. All ages!
I have talked about Blaze and Annabelle before. They are the ones who came as tiny kittens and now are almost 5 yrs old. They have been waiting a long time for a home. Why they haven't got it yet is puzzling to me. Blaze loves to greet you when you visit, Annabelle is one who likes to lay back and watch everything going on. We have showed photos, talked about them, taken them on a local tv show and they're still there.
Ma went a few weeks ago to spend some time with the kitties and Blaze was being the diva, she is. She starts with the "Look at me, I am beautiful" prance and then its " excuse me, but don't you see me?" all while ma is ignoring her. Ma is petting on other kitties and purposely ignoring Blaze. Then Blaze starts rubbing on ma to get her attention. When ma says hello Blaze , Blaze sways away. Being the majestic kitty that she is. As the game went on, ma pulled out her camera.
Blaze seen it and wanted to be the star. I am sharing the video of her and other kitties like Helen who are available.

Another thing we like to do is to test our cats with dogs. At first, the cats aren't so sure what is happening but after a few short exposures , they understand that dogs aren't going to hurt them. We actually become friends.
After a while, they don't mind a canine fur friend hanging out with them.

We try to get them used to all size dogs. In the photo above, is Precious and me hanging together in the cat room. Precious is also adoptable. She loves all animals and would love to have someone to walk around with. She follows the staff everywhere, even leash free on the property. She is very well behaved and gentle.

If you would like more information on Precious or any of the kitties you seen in the video please EMAIL us
We would love to speak to you about that animal.

Do You Have a Heart Like a Dog?

It's HERE! The beginning of a New Year. 2013 has came and gone and 2014 is the start of new beginnings. Last year I decided to be part of the Blogger Exchange Program  hosted by Pamela from Something Wagging This Way Comes and AJ from I Still Want More Puppies! The blogger exchange program isn't about sharing gifts of things money can buy but giving the gift of compliments, sharing each others blogs with our followers and giving encouragement. All my blogging friends and I were paired up in to 2's. I was paired with Jodi at Heart Like a Dog. If you follow me on Facebook you have seen where I asked others to go by and like her Heart Like a Dog page. I sure hope you have by now.

I have followed Heart Like a Dog on Facebook , twitter and I have also read her blog so when I was paired up with Jodi I knew a little about her but I needed to find out more to share with you. Her heart consist of 2 labs - one named Sampson and one named Delilah.

Her banner from Facebook and her Blog (I am borrowing it for this post)

Jodi and her husband, Chet has had Sampson in their lives since he was 8 weeks old. Sampson grew up a only fur child. He turned out to be a great snuggler says Jodi. When people meet him they say "I want a dog like that".
Samson (photo borrowed from her blog )

When Sampson was about 3 yrs old, they decided that they wanted to give him a sibling to play with so he wouldn't be lonely while they were at work. He did get to attend daycare so he wasn't home alone all the time but he needed someone for those days that he didn't attend daycare. They decided they wanted to adopt, which won my heart. They turned to PetFinder to find their boy a sibling. They searched and searched, put in applications but was rejected due to them not being home all day. Some rescues require this, why? I don't know, I think its just plain silly because a lot of pets lose their chance on a pawfectly great home because a rescue/shelter/humane society feels someone should be home all day with the pet.

Jodi and her husband decided to try find a lab or a lab mix and after many photos, many conversations and many emails with the shelters she found on Petfinder, they decided to contact the American Lab Rescue. They found 3 dogs and inquired about all 3. The rescue wanted to know why they chose 3 and not just 1 so she told them about being rejected and why she thought 3 would give her a better chance than just one. The lab rescue paired her up with a dog named Ginny who would be named Delilah.

Jodi said that she was so afraid she had made a mistake since the dogs were ignoring each other, she just cried and cried. Then while sitting outside letting the dogs walk around the yard something happened, a game of play between the dogs. That sent Jodi into more tears but this time tears of happiness.

Delilah started having issues with pain and after vet after vet visit they came to the conclusion that she had a pinched nerve in her back. She took her to a chiropractor who adjusted her, gave her acupuncture and laser treatments to her muscles and it worked.
I will say just reading Delilah's story made me learn alot about pain and pain management.

Delilah and Sampson were switched to a raw diet where they both lost weight (which they needed) and are healthy happy dogs today. Delilah won Sampson's heart and she won her pawents heart. Sampson and Delilah are complete opposites of each other. One is laid back and the other is endless energy.

Years have past and adventures have been plenty. The one thing I can say about social media is you get to see the adventures and you feel as you are part of that person or pawson's life. Join me in reading about the life and times of Sampson and Delilah by following Jodi and her Heart Like a Dog on

I hope you have enjoyed learning more about Jodi and her fur kids, I hope you follow her too.
