It's a baby male downy woodpecker!
The woodpecker mates have started bringing their babies to our bird feeder!

Do you feed birds in your yard??

    1. We fed black oil sunflower seed to get rid of the black birds but alot of birds that we love didn't like it. we started buying our seed at Sam's Club. It has mostly black sunflower seeds but also has millet seed. We get the woodpecker seed cakes to keep our woodpeckers in the yard.
We have 2 types of woodpeckers. We have the small downy ones and the huge ones.

  2. We feed the humming birds, but the rest of the birds have plenty of natural sources. I love seeing the variety that visit our woods! Your downy sure is sweet!

    1. We have only seen 1 hummingbird this year and that was on ma's birthday. We plant different plants that the birds love.

  3. Sadly, the squirrels get to the food before any birds do. 😠
    What a sweet fluffy baby.

    1. We have a squirrel problem too. I get my exercise by chasing them. Ma puts out peanuts, peanut butter crackers and other stuff to keep them from getting in the feeders.
