#BayerExpertCare Comes To The Rescue For Dry Skin on Dogs and Cats

Bayer ExpertCare Logo and legalities

Today I would like to talk about another product from the #BayerExpertcare line that we have recently tried. Last month I posted about the moisturizing shampoo that we have used for a year. If you would like to refresh your memory of  what I said about it, you can find the article here- Keeping Our Skin Healthy With #BayerExpertCare Shampoo
Topical moisturizing treatment by Bayer ExpertCare
Spot On Moisturizer is available for dogs and they also have a cat line.

The Bayer® ExpertCareTM Spot on skin moisturizer was a product that we have seen on the shelves but hadn't tried before. When Blogpaws was asked to find bloggers to talk about a assortment of products Bayer make, we jumped at the chance to be chosen. I was lucky enough to be picked to help spread the word about their awesome products. That was enough push for ma to buy the spot on treatment. We already have been using the shampoos and the eye drops plus we have been using their additional line of products and have been nothing but happy with everything they produce.

We love Bayer line of dog and cat products. For the last year and a half we have used the Bayer ExpertCare eye lubricant on Jenny Sue. Jenny is blind so she does not blink as much as she should which causes her eyes to get very dry. We had used other eye lubricants but they didn't last long enough. The Bayer eye lubricant works immediately and gives Jenny Sue relief from dry eyes for hours. ExpertCare Eye Lubricant Drops for dogs helps support moisture and lubrication of the eye surface in dogs. The drops are specially formulated with cross-linked, modified hyaluronic acid to support lubrication and minimize potential dryness and irritation.

I have also used the eye lubricant due to getting dirt or weed seeds in my eyes from mole digging.

The ExpertCare Spot On moisturizer is a topical treatment that helps dry skin. It supports skin hydration , helps to have a shiny coat, maintains a full healthy coat and helps deodorize the pet.The shampoo has been working wonders for our coats this fall but we don't get a bath often. I do get baths more frequently than Jenny or Scooby do to being out in the public with ma doing my job as a service dog.

The Spot on moisturizer is a topical treatment and is applied like a topical flea treatment. The box recommends not bathing the dog 2 days before or 2 days after having a treatment.
Applying the Bayer Expert Care spot on treatment to a poodle

Applying the moisturizer was easy. You break open the pipette and apply it to two spots on the coat. One between the shoulders and one other spot. We chose the base of my tail.

The treatment soaks into the skin immediately. It left no greasy residue nor did it attract dirt or grime in the spots that it was applied.
It is recommended to use one pipette every week for two months and then one pipette every two weeks after that. With my thick hair, ma said that she couldn't afford it.

Is this what has helped my coat stop itching?
Because Scooby wears sweaters all the time, his sweaters can absorb the moisture from his skin. He has a problem with dander. He leaves it everywhere! When his sweaters come off, he looks like he has a bad case of dandruff. The shampoos HAVE been helping but he needed some extra care.

After ma gave him a good brushing, she applied a pipette to him. In a couple of days we started seeing a difference. When ma took his sweaters off, his dander wasn't as bad. It was still bad just not as bad. The following week she applied another pipette to him. The next day his coat looked twice as good as the day before! We have followed the directions and each week his coat looks better and better. Tonight ma took his sweater off and he had zero flakes.

Normally when we take his sweaters off, he scratches like a mad man but for the last week , he hasn't scratched one time. This is a breakthrough!!! We have done everything we could for him to help him with the itches of dry skin and in the winter it gets really bad. Ma has changed his diet, added oils to his meals, rubbed him down with oils or moisturizers but all that did was leave a thick coating on his fur and let it absorb dirt faster.

With the Expert Care his coat not only looks better but it feels better. He is super soft and not prickly from his dry hair feeling like cactus needles. He has a shine to him especially when he is out in the sun and the scratching has stopped. He is due another treatment tomorrow and I can't wait to see what it does.

Also his coat has stayed cleaner or at least felt cleaner longer and he doesn't have any smell at all. I think he feels better too. He spends less time scratching and more time playing.

ZERO dander or flakes
The ExpertCare treatments are a PetSmart exclusive product. You won't find them in other stores and they are located with the shampoos and conditioners. This is usually in front of the grooming salon. They have a line for cats as well and ma is considering trying it on Molly Mew. She is starting to get a little bit of dander starting but usually a good brushing helps with that. Soon we will firing up the fireplace and between it and the dry heat, people and pets skin dries out in this house.

We are really satisfied with this treatment and happy to know that it makes Scooby more comfortable. Ma says she wishes she could use it for her skin but it is only safe for PETS. Not recommended for humans.

The following are the ingredients that are used in the spot on moisturizer. If your dog is allergic to any of these , it is not recommended to use it.
Ingredients:
Bio-Diffusing Agent, Olus (Vegetable Oil), Gelling Agent, Melia Azadirachta Seed Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Lavandula Hybrida Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Bud Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Cinnamomum Camphora (Camphor) Leaf Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil, Curcuma Longa Root Oil, Origanum Compactum Oil, Gaultheria Procumbens (Winter-Green) Leaf Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Bisabolol

You can find more about the line of Bayer ExpertCare products that PetSmart carries to see what would be a good fit for your dog or cat.
I will keep you up on how Scooby is handling winter skin. I can't wait to see it for myself. Having itchy skin is a pain. We hope it continues to make him happy.

Next month I will be talking about the ear wash. We have been using it the last couple weeks. I thoroughly like to test any product for a test period before I tell you about them. Can''t use a product once or twice to tell someone if you like them or not.

Will you be trying the shampoos or the spot on moisturizing drops?
Do you have any questions that I could possibly answer?
I am all ears. Talk to me.
