BW- Alone time

Sometimes Ma takes me to run the field by myself.
I get to take in all the scents and sounds alone.
She is always there but she stays back so I can have some "me" time.
It clears my mind and calms my soul
Its almost magical how good it can make me feel afterwards

Have a peaceful Sunday

Pumpkin Peanut Butter Cookies for Dogs

It's Tuesday! I am participating in the Tasty Tuesday blog hop this week. I am joining some other fine folks that you will see below. Please make sure to stop by their sites to see what they are cooking up today. It will make your pets tummy happy and tail wag with delight.

Chef Carma- Christmas Season Edition
As you see, I have my Christmas cooking outfit on. Its the magical time of the year when all good puppies and kitties look forward to Santa Paws visiting. I look forward to all the yummy goodies that come my way.

I want to remind you that with all those extra treats, you need extra exercise. This goes for humans and pets. Parents, get those leashes out and take an extra walk or a longer with your dogs, maybe play some chase inside the house or if you have a treadmill; you can put it on the lowest speed and let your dog "take a walk" inside. Extra pounds are hard on the heart and body so lets stay healthy!! Walking with the family after dinner is a family friendly activity that helps to keep the family bonded and its so dog gone fun!

For this treat, I had the help of my sissy Sarah. Since I am not allowed to use the stove or put my paws in the bowls, I need the help of a human. We got this recipe from a recipe book that we recieved from WiggleButts Go Hollywoof. You can click the blue link to see what WiggleButts was all about.

Ma didn't know what to do with our Halloween pumpkin. We don't carve our pumpkin so we had a whole pumpkin to do something with. Since guinea pigs love pumpkin seeds , ma took all the seeds out and air dried them. She followed up with baking them in the oven at a 150 degrees for an hour. Cinnamon, our guinea pig LOVES them. Ma cut all the insides out, put them in a large pan with a 1/2 cup of water and simmered it on the stove until it turned to a pureed mush. She stored it in containers to use later. This is later.......
On to my cooking adventure......

Pumpkin Peanut Butter Cookies for pets

Ingredients needed:
1/2 Cup Pumpkin
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
2 eggs
2 Cups Flour (we used unbleached whole wheat flour)
1 assistant
1 large bowl
We sprayed our baking sheet with Olive oil spray but we found that if you use a non stick pan you can skip this step

Preheat oven to 350
Put all ingredients in the bowl and mix throughly together. You may have to add a little flour to make the dough workable.
Put some flour on the area or use wax paper where you will be rolling out the dough. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters. If you don't have cookie cutters, you can use a glass to cut the dough into circles.
Bake for  20-25 minutes. You want them to be golden brown. They will be soft when they come out but as they cool they became crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside.
Ours came out a little thick so I would recommend that you roll them out a little thinner like 1/4th inch instead of 1/2 inch.

Allow to cool and serve.
Sissy also put some of the leftover batter in our silicone heart freezer trays and she froze it. Jenny Sue loves the frozen version as much as the baked cookies.

I do not like pumpkin or peanut butter so I passed on eating these. Jenny Sue was happy about that because that meant there were more for her to enjoy. BOL!
Cinnamon even liked them! He gets a tiny bit of a cookie at night.

Does your pets like pumpkin and peanut butter?
Do you think they would like these?

I hope you enjoyed this segment of "Cooking with Carma"
Have a tail wagging Tuesday!!!

*You can also use canned pumpkin that can be purchased at most pet stores. We have found it at PetSmart before. Do not use pumpkin pie filling."

Pet Odor Eliminator Candle Review #ad

I was sent a Pet Odor Eliminator candle to review. This is my honest opinion of how this candle worked. I only talk about things that I feel would be a interest to my viewers and are Poodale Approved.

If you are a pet parent, you know about smells that sometimes our sweet selves can imminent. We can sometime get a "doggie" odor, the kitty can leave a present in the box or the guinea pig can make our house smell, not so pleasant.
How do you keep your home smelling "Pet Free"?
A couple of years ago, ma walked in the vets office and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it smelled. She asked them what they used and they told her they used a "Pet Odor Eliminating" candle. Ma bought a Vanilla scent and we loved it. It even took out what I consider a heavenly smell of liver cooking odors. Seriously humans, liver smells wonderful to us dogs!

When Pet Products By Royal asked if I would like to review a candle , I immediately said YES. They picked the fragrance but sent me a candle to review. I love these candles because they make ma happy. It came just in the nick of time. Ma had attempted to bake us some fresh pig ears in the oven. She never ever EVER imagined how bad those things smell when being cooked. I have to admit that I was shocked to know that they really really did S-T-I-N-K. The smell was so bad that she took them outside and threw them away because we couldn't stand the smell.. the house smelled sooooo bad.
She could have used a air freshener to mask the odor but you all know the house would have smelled like air freshener and stinky pig ear!

That is when we really put the candle to the test. The candles don't just cover up the odor , they eliminate it. The candles have a powerful enzyme that attack and eliminate the odor. After lighting up the candle , it immediately started working. In about a hour the smell was gone. Dad and Sarah came home and said the house smelled really good. We didn't tell them what ma had tried to do earlier that day. They didn't even know she had cooked something really really STINKY.

The candles have a burn time of at least 70 hours. They are cost efficient. Pet Products By Royal has a large selection of scents. The candles cost less through them than at our vets office. They have a handy "find a store near you" feature on their site. You can also order directly through them.

The Creamy Vanilla is still our favorite.
They have a special on their site on order 5 candles and get Free shipping.
These candles cost us $10. a candle at the vets office but on Pet Products by Royal you can order them for $6.99

Visit their site and see more testimonials from others who have used the candles. You will want to try one of your own.

They said I didn't bring enough home.
Hey, I tried.

Sunday Was Funday

Yesterday afternoon Ma decided to clean out Cinnamon's cage. The weather was cool but not cold and the sun was shining. She let us all go out to get some sunlight and fresh air. Ma and I played poodle ball (fetch) for a little while while Molly Mew explored the yard and Cinnamon nibbled on some grass. It felt good to get outside.

After ma cleaned Cinnamon's cage, she raked a few leaves away from around the pond. She took the cover off of the pond so she could clean the filter. The temps aren't cold enough to stop running the filter yet so the pond isn't officially closed. She keeps a screen over the pond to keep the leaves that are falling from going in the water.

As soon as Molly Mew seen the cover was off the pond , she came running to get a drink. She loves to drink from the pond. Ma doesn't use chemicals in her pond so the water is safe.

Cinnamon found that playing in the leaves could be fun. I don't think he remembered doing it last year or maybe he did. He would bulldoze through the leaves and then he would burrow. He was having himself a big time playing in them.

After awhile ma said it was time to go in. She was afraid that the ground was getting to cold for Cinnamon. When she picked him up , he was talking up a storm. He wasn't ready to go in and neither was I .

He talked her into letting us stay out longer. YAY!

A little later he came out of his turtle shell and we played in the leaves again.

The temps started falling and it was time to go in.
It felt good to get outside and play.
Our Sunday was a Funday even if it was just for a hour.

How was your weekend???

#BarkWorld Pet Conference Recap

Last Wednesday I took off to Atlanta, Ga with ma and sissy. We were heading to the Barkworld/MeowWorld pet conference. This is our 4th year of attending this conference. The conference took place on Thursday through Saturday but we go to big events like this a day early. It gives us time to settle and connect with some friends who also come in early.
On the stairs at the Westin Buckhead Hotel
I had to go to the dogs p-mail business center to see if I had any messages. Some of my friends had already checked in so I knew to go find them.

After receiving and leaving my p-mail replies we went to search for our friends. We caught up with some who were there and made plans to have dinner later that night at the Seven Lamps. Its a little pricey but there is a waiter there named Jarrad. He has a australian accent but he was off that night. It still didn't stop us from having a great time and plenty of laughs.
They look comfortable but they were freezing.

We hung out for a while and then it was time to go to sleep. Since we were sharing a room with Flea from Jones Natural Chews. Actually if it wasn't for being able to room with Flea, we wouldn't have been able to come. For this, we will be internally grateful.

The next day everyone was arriving. We were saying hello to those who we seen and we decided to go with a few friends to the F2O (Fresh 2 Order) restaurant that is located a couple of blocks away. Excellent food and excellent prices!

Ma and Niqqi shared a chickyum sandwich. Niqqi quickly became Ma's best poochfriend. :) You can tell by the smile on Ma's face that she was fan girling on Niqqi. We loved spending time with everyone but apparently ma was pushing the button on her camera and not actually taking photos. So I have no other photos to show from this lunch. :(

We hung out in the lobby and greeted friends
Pepperpom and I are both service dogs

Rocco was dancing on the table for us.

Oliver remembered ma. He was ready to play. He is also a service dog

We checked in to the conference and got our name tags and swag bags. Ma got a dog bag and sissy got a cat bag. That cat bag was the bomb! It had so much fun things in it for kitty cats. I was excited to get back home to show my kitty, Molly Mew.
That night we had a block pawty. Everyone gathered to meet and greet and there was a cookie cook off sponsored by Honest Kitchen. The quest was to make the best dog cookie. Sissy Sarah was using her Grandy skills. She works at a chickyum restaurant. Yep, I am a lucky dog!

Contestants gathering their ingredients.
The beginning of the cook off:

Here are some photos of the block pawty. Many of our photos came out with everypawdy having zombie eyes or blurs. The lighting was all off so the flash was either too bright or too dark.
Since I have soooo many photos of Lulu the Beagle  I just made a collage of her. What can I say? She is so cute that we couldn't just pick one. Actually I have many photos of each friend. I have some of the cutest fur friends to walk on 4 paws :)

Hanging out with everyone. Sorry too many people to tag.

Do my friends know me or what? BOL!

The next day it was the get down to business and learn aka the sessions. We attended a few of the sessions. We really enjoyed the DIY E-Books for Writers and Bloggers given by Amy Shojai. It was very insightful. There was information there that could be used for blogs also.

Amy is a Author, Spokesperson, Certified Animal Behavior Consultant

We marveled at this fat cat (unhealthy size)

Captivated us with her photos.

After the sessions, it was time for lunch and such. I kept taking ma to the Full Moon table. Sure glad the rep didn't mind. We visited all the brands that were there.

Holy Cats! These treats are made from chickyums in Kentucky!

Keona became my best friend. I visited her often

Kona at K9Carryall table

We also took flat Jasmine with us. Jasmine got to experience the conference through photos. A flat pet is a photo of the pet that we put on cardboard and take photos with.

We mingled and caught up with all our friends. I made my rounds to get my photo taken with some of my friends.

We went out to eat that night. We went to the food court in the Lennox mall. There were many choices to eat there and it was much more reasonably priced than the restaurants around the hotel.
Ma, Christie,Liz , and sissy all shared sushi.
A LOT of sushi.
SUSHI!

That night, I seen this and knew it was the end of Barkworld
We wrapped up the night with hanging out together and saying our "see you later" because we never want to say goodbye to anyone. It was so much fun to hang out with everyone. The laughter and the memories will be there forever.
I have wonderful friends. I am so blessed to have them in my life. I look forward to seeing them again in Nashville Tenn. in May for Blogpaws!

Until then I will be saving the world from zombie chickyums in my old Kentucky home.
