Why You Should Be Worried About Fleas And What They Do To Your Pets Health-#PetBasics #Blogpaws

FLEAS can cause WHAT??!

Did you know that fleas can not only be a nuisance but they can give you tapeworm? TAPEWORMS! Now I don't know about you but I don't want any worms in my body! I don't even want another animal sniffing my butt!!
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of BlogPaws Pet Influencer Network. The opinions and text are all mine.

PLUS That isn't the only thing that FLEAS can do!

So let's talk about fleas and why it is important to keep your pet flea free.

This post is sponsored by #Seresto and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I have been selected as a Sponsored Blogger to attend the BlogPaws 2016 Conference on behalf of Seresto however we only work with brands we love

Words that say Keep #Calm and put #Seresto On

Fleas can be anywhere. All outdoor animals, wild or tame, can have fleas and those fleas can find their way to inside animals. Humans can bring fleas inside on their shoes or pants legs so just because you have an inside pet doesn't mean it will be safe from fleas.

Volunteering at the Humane Society, I seen animals come in that were infested with fleas and ticks. It was sad to see but without properly treating the fleas they would feed and breed on the animal. Those pets would have to be put in an isolation area and be treated. I know they had to feel better after they were flea free.

Not only are fleas uncomfortable but they can be dangerous to a pet's health.
  • Flea Dermatitis- This is an allergic reaction to flea bites. It can cause a pet to extensively itch.
  • Iron Deficiency anemia - This is a serious medical condition. This can even cause death if not caught in time.
Facts about fleas:

1. Fleas can live up to a year in a half if they have a blood source.
2. They can live up to 100 days without a host.
3. Flea eggs can remain dormant in your carpet for up to a year.

#SerestoFleacollars are made for #dogs and #Cats
Seresto collars come in different sizes to fit every size dog and they have a cat collar also. You can find out more about sizes and how to fit by visiting Pet Basics

The cat collars are made to break away in case the kitty gets caught by something. They are safe for homes that include children and other pets.
There is a WARNING to PROPERLY wash your hands after handling the collar.

With illnesses that can be spread by fleas and ticks with just a bite, shouldn't you be thinking about how to protect your pets and yourself from pests?

What are the ingredients in Seresto collars?

Imidacloprid -this stops the nervous system to stop working in pest but has no effects on a pet's nervous system. It's toxic to insects but is safe to use on pets and at small doses can be safe for birds.
Flumethrin is a pyrethroid insecticide. It is used externally in veterinary medicine against parasitic insects and ticks on cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and dogs.
Together these two ingredients work to keep fleas and ticks off your pet.

We have been using Seresto collars for years. We have never had fleas or ticks while wearing them. We go for runs in fields, the woods, and meadows.

Seresto Collars are #PoodaleApproved and highly recommended.

I know some of you do not want to worry about monthly flea treatments, topicals can be messy and your pets may not be able to use the pill forms. That is why Seresto collars can be the choice for you.
