Barkworld 2014 recap

Eukanuba Paws In Motion to BarkWorld”

I asked what BarkWorld was and I was explained that it was a conference on how to use social media. It sounded exciting!  I couldn’t wait to get there. We arrived at the hotel and I had never stayed at a hotel before. We checked in and then we were off to the conference. I was so nervous; my paws were sweating buckets of sweat. The information was pawsome. I even met Carol Bryant from Fido Friendly magazine. I thought I was going to faint; I am her biggest fan! Then I met others who I had only seen on TV or read in magazines, I thought I must be in Hollywood. I also was asked to try out a new product called Leash-Locket and do a review.
I was so afraid that I was going to do something wrong that I really couldn’t be myself. Between the learning new ways to get my blog out there; to how to make your brand, it was so educational that I know I missed some things. I do a lot of reading on how to Blog but you will learn so much about being social with your blog, site etc. You will meet some of the top bloggers and can ask as many questions as you want. The things called swag was pawtastic. I’m working really hard on my social skills and even found out that all spaniels are not blind like my sissy Jenny. I have so much more to learn. I know BarkWorld Expo is where the information is. I know more influencers because of BarkWorld and thanks to Facebook, Twitter, and the other social sites  I never used Twitter until I attended CherylLawson (@ImaJackRussell) seminar! Now I know how to use Twitter (sorta) thanks to Cheryl. I can be more relaxed and the lineup for the speakers is just what this poodle needs. I am always ready to learn new things!

The winner of the Barkworld 2012 Contest is...

It's me! I won the grand prize. I won a all expense paid trip to the BarkWorld 2012 conference in Atlanta Ga. Thank you to Eukanuba for their contest #EukanubaPawsinMotion contest. Thank you to the BarkWorld Staff for picking my entry and thank you to all of my supporters, who didn't tell me to shut up when I was constantly constantly talking about it. I tweeted, Facebooked, Pinterest, Googled and Stumbleupon it constantly. I had some really tough competition. It was fierce. All the entries were pawsome and I am very excited that a few of those pawsome entries also won free tickets to the conference. I look forward to meeting the them. I look forward to seeing my friends I met last year but was too shy to approach. I even met my favorite writer. Carol Bryant who has Fidose of Reality, I consider myself her biggest fan. The only thing I regret is that I didn't get my photo with her. Since the last Barkworld , we have became online with almost everyone we met. We have learned more about them and they know more about me. I look forward to seeing everybody but most of all I look forward to learning more about social networking and blogging, much, much more! I have to give a shout out to Cheryl Lawson (@Imajackrussell) because she taught me how to tweet. I could name all the speakers that I learned from but I would be here all day. For those who have never been to BarkWorld, you are in for some pawtastic seminars and you will learn so much! You will take lots of notes and you will use those notes throughout the year as a reference book. The BarkWorld Staff work really ,really  hard all year to make this successful and I will say they do such a wonderful job. The line up this year is ubber pawsome!
I just really can't believe that I won. What a honor.  I am still learning but we all have to start somewhere. I started at Barkworld 2011 and I look forward to BarkWorld 2012.
Thank you BarkWorld and Eukanuba for picking my entry. I can't wait to go and experience and learn new things. Happy tail wags!

BARKWORLD 2011- 1st Conference

Last year in Sept. a friend asked me if I wanted to be his date to BarkWorld. I had no idea what BarkWorld was. He explained it was a social media conference for pet bloggers. I thought about it and said yes. It wouldn't hurt to get some how to do these blog thingy's. Time came and we left. He filled me in on the ride to Atlanta, Ga. on what to expect at this conference. I thought ok, I can handle this.
It was my 1st long trip with my ma and sissy Sarah and I didn't even know what a hotel was. I am always up for a adventure. I got to see tall buildings and what a big city looked  like. I slept most of the way down since he told me I would have to be on my toes when we got there.
We got to the hotel and it was beyond beautiful. I have never seen anything like this. We rode up the elebator and went to a room. I was a little disappointed that there was no one there for me to visit. We changed our clothes and went to this thing called the reception. There were so many nicely dressed humans and canines there. We did what ma called "Mingle". That is where you go around and introduce ourselves. After a few hours we went back to our room. I was ready to go home and ma said "No Poodale, we are staying the night here". I know what staying the night means because I do it at my mamaw's house. I got in the bed and it was so comfy. We slept that night and got up the next morning and headed to the elebator to go downstairs. I met a very pretty lady with her spaniel. I thought all spaniels were blind so I kept getting out of his way when he came toward me. We introduced ourselves and the lady said " Carma Poodale!" I thought wow she knows me. She told us her name and from magazine she was from. Oh my cats! I have all her magazines! I am her biggest fan. I was so nervous I thought I was going to puke on her. I didn't. But when we got down stairs I met others that I had either been reading their columns or seen on TV. I got so nervous I went "doe eyed" I looked like a deer caught in the head lights!
I had the best time but because I was afraid I wouldn't make a good impression I couldn't be myself. I talked about our Humane Society and all the things I believe in like, Adopting and spay./neuter. Ma and I took notes and learned so much. But there is so much more to learn.
Now BarkWorld is having a contest. for a FREE trip. It includes Air fare, hotel and passes to the conference. I have been practicing all year for BarkWorld. Learning to be more social, getting on Twitter, Facebook, and other sites in order to get my causes out there. I would love to win this trip. I don't know what a air plane is but like I said I am always up for a adventure.
So with that being said, Please go to my tab “Eukanuba Paws In Motion to BarkWorld” and tell me what you think. Paws crossed its good enough because there is some tough competition. The rules are The more you post and promote the more chances you have to win!   Wish me luck! Happy tails to you.

  1. Hi Carma & condogulations on winning grand prize to BarkWorld. I hope you don't think this rude question, but my pal PepperPom rold me to ask you. Do you know of anyone else doing sponsorships for pet bloggers to BarkWorld? I would love to go but can't afford trip from California. Thanks for any help you can offer.
